The Carlton Hotel is right on the front in Folkestone. It is a budget hotel but we had no complaints. Our room was clean and tidy and the breakfast was great. The service was very good both at check in and at breakfast. Very close to Channel Tunnel.

Everything was perfect and fairly clean, I really enjoyed staff and location. Spotless units with a beautiful view over sea. Nice restaurant provided Turkish dishes. Had a comfortable stay for parking for over night, would stay here again.

Cheap and cheerful! My friend and I stayed at the Carlton Hotel for a weekend in July 2011 whilst attending the British Open Golf Tournament at nearby Sandwich. The hotel was centrally located in Folkestone with good sea views and a small car park at rear or pay and display close by. Just a few minutes walk to restaurants and central railway station. Hotel reception and bar staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room rate included a full english breakfast as well as cereal. Overall good value.
The room was quite small with just enough room to open the wardrobe door. Overall the hotel was somewhat weathered and in need of modernisation.The staff at breakfast though friendly were in a haste to remove your plate before you'd even finished eating!

Lighting in communal areas needs improvement!!! The outdoor spaces around the hotel are dirty and unwelcoming!!!

I enjoyed the sea view room with clean bedding and a comfortable bed. The location is ideal, just a short walk from the high street. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a nice continental spread. It was a decent stay.
